On Friday Madison finally turned 12. That is why I put twelve is the magic number. Madison has been waiting to turn twelve since I don't know when. Why is twelve so important to her right now, well here is why.
1. She gets to finally wear makeup. Not alot because I don't think she needs it.
2. She finally gets to babysit, even though we have been having her babysit for us for a while now and she has actually babysat some kids not from our family too but it is official now.
3. She finally gets to go into Young Women's at church and go to the activities on Tuesday nights.
4. She gets a little bit more freedom to roam around with her friends. Like on Halloween we let her go trick or treating with the other two girls that we were with that are twelve as well, all my themselves. She had a phone with her of course but she got to go without mom and dad and with her friends.
It isn't alot of things but these are things that she couldn't wait to happen until she turned 12 and she had some friends turn 12 before her and was killing her that they got to do some of those things and she didn't.
So for Madison's birthday it was kind of a last minute thing because she wouldn't tell me what she wanted to do. I had suggested things and she would say no, so finally she said that she would just like to have some girls over and have dinner and watch a movie and play games and have cake and ice cream and stuff like that. So that is what we did, we invited some girls over and they hung out and played games and watched a movie. I think they all had a great time.
This was what Madison wanted for breakfast on Friday.
Before school
This is what Madison wanted me to make for her birthday dinner. Do you know what I am making?
Before the girls came over I had her open her gift from us because I thought that they could use it to play.
Yep, Just Dance 4 and Just Dance Disney.
As soon as the girls got there this is basically what they did the whole night besides watch a movie and take a break for dinner and cake and ice cream.
Do you know what I am making yet?
Almost done.
If you guessed taco's you are right. I make my own taco shells. I bought the store bought shells before and the kids don't like them, they like my homemade shells better so this is what I make when we have taco's. They are very yummy though.
Madison's cake
All the girls.
Opening some presents. I couldn't get all the pictures because my camera was making them fuzzy so here are some pictures from her opening presents.
It was so fun to see the all the girls hang out together, I had to laugh quite a few times because when they would come up stairs and eat they would all be talking and laughing. It was really quite comical. I am glad they could all come over and have some fun.

Hooray! What a great day! Madison is getting so grown up. Zac is with her, counting down the days until 12...it's hard having an end-of-year birthday and watching all your friends move up to the youth program without you! :) And I'm with your kids, your tortillas are way better than store-bought!
